Eight Months Old

Wow I can not believe my little, squishy, no head holding, floppy little baby girl has turned into this big, strong, smart, funny, big baby girl. She is not a toddler and after saying it in the last post, this momma says nope not yet. So here are some quick stats on the little boober baby.

Height: approx. 28 inches

Weight: approx 21 lbs

Sleep Habits:
She takes two naps one around ten and one around three. She is up between five and six in the morning and it works for now since I'm up at that time for work, but the weekends means she usually gets flopped between mom and dad so we can secure at least another hour of sleep before she gets angry and begins to holler. Bedtime is usually between seven and eight at night. fifty percent of the time shes yells and screams for a while before going to bed. Last night she almost fell asleep sitting up in her crib until i came and laid her down.

Eating:
She loves food.A girl after my own heart. she has five to six bottles a day at meals and naptimes and a big one at bedtime. She eats baby food purees and eats small cut up chunks of fruit, veggies and some meat amd bread. her favorites being puffs, cheerios, chicken, bluberries and quesadilla.
she loved this watermelon and corn on the cob that followed.

Favorites:
Eating has definitely become a favorite past time. The jenny-jump-up, stuffed animals, being on daddys shoulders.
Dogs and cats, oswald makes you get so excited when we are trying to eat dinner
I just stop feeding you until you stop jumping and squirming in excitement at the sight of him. swinging and swimming habe quickly become some of our favorite summer go to's. Of course some of her favorite things she wishes she could play with are the remotes, the labtop and our cell phones.

Memorable moments:
You sat up from a laying position, you also pulled yourself to a stand using your own little muscles.
You are starting to push your top teeth through so you've been a little irritable, but some how even when your cranky you are still amazingly good for me.
As i sit here typing watching Penny drink a bottle i hear her fake cough, she has gotten pretty good at it.

Bath time

Last night was Pennys first time not using her baby bathtub. Guess that means this little catfish is getting big. She took to the big bath like a fish of water(no pun intended.) We got this great no slip mat with Winnie the Pooh so it matches our bath toys. She soaked and splashed, and kept  trying to stand up so i would have to keep knocking her back down (gently) to her bottom. Another smooth transition from baby to soon-to-be toddler.
Bath time is always an adventure! This means we now have one less thing to travel with. You go big girl!

Birthdays

Penny telling Owen Happy Birthday Friend!
Saturday was quite the day to celebrate. We had our friend Owen's birthday in the late morning. so we showered got on our party clothes and headed over to Lyon's Park. It was nice because I hadn't seen some of my girls in a while. Seeing as this was the first time I met Owen and it was his 1st birthday. It was a nice relaxing time and you got to play with some other kids close to your age.
Kiddies playing or maybe just protecting there corners.(Owen and Nalena)
Birthday Boy smashing his cupcake
Then we headed home to get a few things ready from Grandpa's Birthday Celebration. I made shish-kabobs while you sat with daddy. Then we loaded the car and headed to Lotus Park. Dad stayed home he had a few more work related things he had to get done. But he meet us down the at the river a little later on.Grandma and Grandpa came down and we barbecued and dipped in the water, which was oh so cold but you need to get the corn and watermelon off your body. It was a great day filled with friends and family.
Penny and her Grampar.

As I sit here typing away on this Sunday morning baby is sleeping and Danny is off working hard. I think today we will relax, maybe some errands later on or we will blow them off to laze around in the fresh cut grass and maybe a dip in the baby pool.

Is it School? Is it Work?

I consider myself extremely lucky that I get to bring my little P to work with me. Being a preschool teacher is anything but easy, but so fun none the less. Penny loves playing and watching the bigger kids, and I love watching the kids interact with her. They are very helpful when she drops a toy or falls over. So glad she gets to experience "school" early without me having to leave her in the care of another person. So here's to our Tuesday morning.
First things first is usually some tummy time (get it over with since she is not a huge fan). This momma wants you to crawl babe so fuss through so that you can get moving.

The 4th

Fourth of July was wonderful. It was over on hundred degrees here in Placerville so we headed to ice house reservoir for a day in the sun. Citrina, Vic, Alicia and Matt were up there as well. We barbequed ,swam and relaxed in the shade. It was a great day. We came back home to the heat and decided no fireworks this year. Your still just a little girl and passed out by eight anyway. Danny and I could here the fireworks going off at the fairgrounds around nine forty five. They are never to great here in town so next year we will find a fabulous fireworks show to watch.

Cousins

The last two weeks my nice Savannah has been in town from Riverside. She is fourteen and we enjoy every minute we get to spend with her while she is here during her summer visit. It was the first time she met Penny and they took to each other like a fish to water. Were sad her stay was so short this year but as she gets older her plate becomes more full and we're thankful she still wants to come up and visit. Until next summer or possibly Christmas we will miss you till then. We love you Savannah.
