Birds, bees, flowers and trees
Sitting inside during nap time while it's dark, gloomy and wet outside. But just 3 days ago we had been having a streak of beautiful spring weather. I'm talking 70 degrees and sunny, and outside till seven o' clock. We have been finishing up Penny's playhouse outside. We need to add more plants, her wooden furniture, picket fence, and maybe a few pots and pans for inside. It will be a great play space this summer. We added a soft Hot tub to the backyard that Danny picked up for free from a customer. I have yet to get in and now with the rain it will probably be a few more days before I test the waters.

St. Patrick's Day
Our St. Patrick's day was low key. Penny and I headed to school in the morning where the classroom had been torn apart by the little leprechauns that were looking for our gold. Even the trap we built had been knocked to the floor. We ate green pancakes with whipped cream and lucky charms sprinkled in top. The kids sure do love the sweet stuff for morning snack. I have been making themed snacks for Penny all weekend. From "healthy" green eggs to sham rocked shaped peanut butter sandwiches. Even a few green smoothies.
We stayed home during the day and got some more yard work done. We burned another pile of leaves and cleaned out the planter boxes. While i was shoveling leaves Penny was playing on the porch. I could hear her laughing and see her messing with cat. She has a habit of poking animals eyes. So the cat Andy finally had enough and gave her a quick claw to the face. Thankfully it didn't hit her eye or catch her nostril or something. The cat took off before I could kick him in the butt. Hopefully Penny will Stop poking eyes and just pet gentle and soft. Anyways.... We got Penny's playhouse put together. The new paint job makes it look so nice. We will be putting the yard of it together this week. Went to pick up Danny from work around four then went home to spend dinner and some porch play together.
It was a great day.
Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Coffee and a stroll
This last weekend my niece Savannah came and spent the weekend. Saturday my mom and dad took us out for some coffee and a brisk stroll through town. This is something I have been doing with them since I can remember and it was too cute to see them hand in hand with Penny. We went to Centro for coffee and it was delicious except my chai latte was luke warm, I like 'em hot. We did go by the used book store and my dad bought all of us a book. Starting "The fault in our Stars" by John Green. And then we stop by the cheese shop were Penny meet the lovely (fake) cow Daisy. Simple days like this with family are always fun, we did miss Danny though.
